In the group of food preservation and protection there is a large desire for the ability to protect the crops for the colony. One of these ways of protection these crops are to prevent bugs of all sorts from eating or supply of crops. One of the few ways of doing this is having pesticides sprayed on the crops so the crops can be protected from the bugs, which will lead tomore food for the colony. Pesticides are not only used on insects but also on plants but our main focus is on how these pesticides can regulate insects from destroying our crop. Pesticides are a large category for smaller categories of many different chemicals that can protect the crop from being eaten by these pest. A pesticide is broken into many different categories, which determine the effect that these pesticides may have on certain pests. The main categories of the pesticides solely based for rodent and insect prevention are Attractants, insecticides, matricides, acaricides, molluscicides, nematocides, repellants, and rodenticides. |
All of these pesticides help in the prevention paratism, disease transmission,
the loss of crop, the destruction of processed food, textile, and wood.
